UNESCO is pleased to announce the establishment of a UNESCO Chair on Peace Education and Intercultural Dialogue at Minhaj University Lahore, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and intercultural understanding through higher education.

This Chair, established under the UNESCO UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme, will serve as a national and regional hub for advancing research, teaching, and community engagement on peace education and intercultural dialogue.

The Chair will also play a vital role in empowering youth, educators, and civil society, strengthening governance mechanisms for peacebuilding, and fostering international academic collaboration. By strengthening academic networks and promoting inclusive, values-based education, this initiative contributes directly to UNESCO’s mission of building peace in the minds of women and men.
