MQI’s Directorate of Interfaith Relations holds Christmas ceremony

MQI's Department of Interfaith Relations held a Christmas ceremony to share the happiness and joy of the Christian community. The Christian faith leaders from Pastor Alliance Shahdara attended the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that non-Muslim Pakistanis, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, are contributing to the national development. He said that Muslim and non-Muslim citizens of Pakistan have lived in harmony and peace. He said that we can thwart the nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan with the power of unity.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the country has confronted the challenge of terrorism and it is the responsibility of all sections of society to stand by our security forces in their mission to uproot the menace.

Director Interfaith Relations Sohail Ahmad Raza thanked the members of the Christian community for their participation in the ceremony and congratulated them on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam on Christmas.

Christian leader Hazaki L. Noor spoke at the ceremony and thanked MQI for holding the Christmas ceremony and inviting the members of the Christian community to it. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has always promoted the agenda of peace, interfaith harmony and fostered a culture of dialogue among the communities.

Christmas cake was cut on the occasion and the peace candles were lit. The ceremony was attended among others by Dr Zahid-ur-Rehman Rashidi, Pastor Tariq Masih, Pastor Ibrahim Bhatti, Pastor Aslam Bhatti, Pastor Liaqat Masih, Auranzeb Khan, Allama Nadeem Aslam, Jawwad Hamid, Hafiz Nauman Hamid, Sardar Umar Draz Khan, and Tayyab Zia. GM Malik and Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan also congratulated the Christian community on Xmas.
