The people and the government of Pakistan deeply mourn the enormous and unprecedented loss of innocent lives in the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. We share the grief of the American people in this grave national tragedy. We strongly condemn this most brutal and horrible act of terror and violence.

On a cold winter afternoon, Friday 14th December 2007, World Head of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order, Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani’s highest spiritual representative His Excellency Shaykh Muhammad Hisham al-Kabbani took to visit Minhaj ul Quran Centre, London, UK. Shaykh Hisham al-Kabbani was arm-heartedly received upon his arrival by a delegation from the London based centre of Minhaj ul Quran International. Bouquets of flowers were presented to the Shaykh at the reception.

Chairman PAT Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri says his heart is filled with grief and sorrow over the brutal murder of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. May Allah bless her with forgiveness and peace. Expressing solidarity with the family members of the late Benazir Bhutto, PPP workers, leaders and the nation at large, Dr Qadri strongly condemned her assassination saying: It is the murder of democracy and political freedom and a heinous conspiracy and a dangerous maneuver of hidden hands to dismember Pakistan. Paying tributes to the dynamic leadership of Banazir Bhutto he called her a gallant daughter of a dauntless father whom the unforeseen forces have removed from the scene. She was a political leader of high stature. Dr Qadri was addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club telephonically from Canada. Nazim-e-Aala MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Aala Shaikh Zahid Fayyaz, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, GM Malik and Director Media MQI Dr Shahid Mahmud were present on the occasion.

He termed her assassination as the “murder of democracy? and a heinous conspiracy and assault against the solidarity of the homeland. According to him this is one of the worst tragedies in the history of our country.

It is sheer blessing of Allah Most High that by His Grace, by the holiness and sanctity of the hallowed sole dust of His beloved. Minhaj University was awarded charter by the Govt. of Punjab in October 2005. The Higher Education Commission Islamabad also recognized it in 2006

Dr Abdu` Razzaq Blackhirst delivered a lecture at The Minhaj University Lahore. His topic was "Relevance of Muslim Mysticism in Modern Times." Dr Abdu` Razzaq Blackhirst covered all the aspects of mysticism and called it the need of the day and taking arguments from the historical background. He said that mysticism was always relevant and important for human predicaments. Elaborating the finite nature of human beings he said that the ultimate goal of human being must be achievement of infinite which is possible only through mysticism.

An Act to provide for the establishment of the Minhaj University, Lahore. Preamble. Whereas it is expedient to provide for the establishment of the Minhaj University, Lahore in the private sector and matters connected therewith and ancillary thereto:

A delegation of 11 youth members of Asia Link Network U.K visited the Head Office of Minhaj ul Quran. The delegation was lead by a well known personality Lord Shauqat from London. The 11 youth members of the delegation were all from U.K but belonged to different countries backgrounds and religions. During their visit they were briefed by the director Foreign Affairs Mr. Dawood Mash`hadi about the aims and objectives of Minhaj ul Quran in Pakistan and out of Pakistan.
